Bio
Kelly brings nearly two decades of experience to the architectural lighting industry after receiving her education in theatrical scenic and lighting design. Prior to founding Primary Arc Design, Kelly worked as a designer and then Studio Director of WALD Studio for over 15 years. She has designed a wide range of projects across the United States and overseas, including high-end residential, upscale retail, and boutique hospitality.
Outside of the office, Kelly has devoted her energy to expanding the networking strength and industry outreach of Women in Lighting + Design (WILD), a 501(c)6 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women in the lighting industry. She is currently serving as Past-President of the International Board of Directors (2024) after serving as inaugural President (2021 – 2023) and the NYC Chapter Lead (2018 – 2021). She additionally serves on the Advisory Boards for Equity in Lighting (EIL) and ArchLight Summit in Dallas, TX.
Kelly is an Associate Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), and member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and Designers Lighting Forum (DLFNY). She was selected as the 2021 Person of the Year by the Edison Report and named on the global list of 40-under-40 for Lighting Design in 2023. Kelly is also a LEED BD+C professional.

Golnaz was raised in a lighting industry family and has always been passionate and curious about lighting. After pursuing a Bachelor in Interior Design in Dubai, UAE, she moved to New York and earned her Master in Lighting Design at the New York School of Interior Design and a post-graduate Business Marketing and Management certificate at Columbia University. Golnaz values creative lighting solutions that attempt to create an appealing spatial or visual experience. She aims to share her experience and knowledge through the creation of an online platform where an array of lighting approaches and technical information is discussed in depth. Golnaz is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (I.E.S.), Designers Lighting Forum (DLFNY), and Women in Lighting + Design (WILD).
